  • Turning of bearing rings – Bohemia Rings

Bohemia Rings specializes in the complete production of large bearing rings for a wide range of applications. Our task was to ensure efficient tool cooling for a new vertical lathe supplied by Omos. The machine is equipped with a pump delivering up to 70 bar of pressure and a flow rate of 120 l/min, providing ideal conditions for the use of high-pressure cooling principles.

  • Innovative cooling for ceramic tools in machining Inconel 718

Ceramic cutting materials, such as sialon and whisker ceramics, offer the most productive solution for machining Inconel alloys. Thanks to their high thermal resistance, they allow cutting speeds of up to 200 m/min when used with coolant. During roughing operations, round indexable inserts are typically employed; however, standard tools often lack adequate coolant delivery.

  • Improved tool for grooving Ti6Al4V alloy

Efficient coolant delivery plays a key role in internal grooving of heat-resistant super alloys, where proper cooling significantly affects both tool life and process stability. In this case, we focused on internal grooving of a Ti6Al4V forging, a component of an aircraft engine.
